Precision Ag Technology, AAS Degree
The demand for new employees in geospatial data processing and equipment installation is in expanding agriculture.
A skilled workforce to support the growing industry of precision ag technology is needed. This two-year program includes courses in Global Positioning Systems (GPS), data collection, agronomy and ag economics. Combining aspects of engineering, business, agriculture, energy and technology, this program will meet current and future industry needs.
Mitchell Tech’s sophisticated labs will give students hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology including tractors, planters, harvesters, and a variety of drones.
Career opportunities include positions like GPS technician, custom applicator, precision technician and more. Knowledge of this equipment and data is vital to people in equipment sales and service, dealerships, applicators, crop consultants and agronomists.
A strong background in math and science is recommended for this program.
Note: Students in this program are required to purchase a laptop computer from Mitchell Tech. The laptop will have the necessary software installed and will be serviced free of charge while the student is attending Mitchell Tech.
