Precision Ag Technology, AAS Degree

Graduates of Mitchell Technical College's Precision Agriculture Technology program are equipped to proficiently install, operate, and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment and machinery, with a deep understanding of their agronomic impacts in the field. Additionally, they gain hands-on experience in constructing a planter, further enhancing their technical and mechanical skills.

They are trained to collect, analyze, and manage agronomic data from diverse sources, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Utilizing this data, students employ Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to generate variable rate maps for seeding, spraying, and fertilizer applications. The program is further enhanced by the use of land labs, which provide practical experience in planting and harvesting, thereby offering a comprehensive learning experience. Ultimately, the program is designed to empower students with the skills to interpret and communicate complex information, aiding growers in achieving profitable and sustainable farming practices.

Note: Students in this program are required to purchase a laptop computer from Mitchell Tech. The laptop will have the necessary software installed and will be serviced free of charge while the student is attending Mitchell Tech.
