IST 230 Data Visualization
This course will cover the use of databases in business and how they are used in day to day operations as well as to drive business decisions. Students will also gain an introductory experience with database setup, backup and maintenance, as well as, data import, export and integration. Organizations collecting and storing data is not enough. Data for decision making needs to be analyzed to identify trends and outliers. Students will have an introduction to SQL scripting, data analysis tools and ways of visually displaying data. Data visualization tools explored will include Microsoft PowerBI, MS Excel, and Tableau.
